New Year swap with a difference!

Full details:

This year, instead of our usual Card Kit Swap I thought it would be a good idea if we made a card for charity each month.
In the first instance, I will supply each participant with two sets of element(s) e.g. chipboard shapes, diecuts, ribbon, flowers etc., one set to keep for your own use and one to be used on a card which has to be returned the following month, if you are not attending the following months workshop you can bring your card to another months workshop or post your card to me or Jackie!
The element(s) won’t all be exactly the same but similar and it will be great to see the range of cards made by individual participants.

***
In the second instance, Jackie suggested we also have a ‘Charity Kit’ box where anyone can donate card, paper, ribbons, flowers, embellishments, stamped images etc or any little extras you come across when you are card making, which can then be divided up into kits periodically and distributed to anyone who wants to make a charity card whether they take part in the monthly challenge or not. Each card returned will be entered into a draw for a little 'goody bag'.

***

If you would like to start making extra cards to bring along to any of my Workshops for the chosen charity that would be great, there is no theme to the challenge so anything goes!
At the end of the year (or perhaps 6 months depending on how many participate) we will ask for suggestions as to which charity/charities we donate the cards to.

e.e.....................................................................................................................dded some goodies to the Charity Stash Boxes ~ these will be swapped or used to make extra kits for various charities.

How your Charity cards are helping!

Hi jackie,
Thanks to your workshops, Isobel gave me some cards which I brought to a charity night last week for Child Aid Ireland-India. They made €91 for the charity and I wish to express my thanks to you and Isobel for giving same to me.
I have been involved with the charity for nearly 10 years and have 3 children sponsored for their education in Tamil Nadu in Southern India. I have visited them 3 times and witnessed the dire poverty they and their communities live in.
The Race night last week netted almost €3,ooo.
Thanks to all
Sincerely jean O'leary
This is a picture of me in India in 2009 with one of my sponsored children Deena that received her 1st Communion while I was out in India, I brought the clothes from Ireland.

If you would like to help various charities by donating handmade cards click the logo on the right hand side of my blog for details.
